Cutaneous Polymeric-Micelles-Based Hydrogel Containing Origanum vulgare L. Essential Oil: In Vitro Release and Permeation, Angiogenesis, and Safety Profile In Ovo

Origanum vulgare var. essential oil (OEO) is known as a natural product with multiple beneficial effects application in dermatology. Oregano represents potential therapeutic alternative for fibroepithelial polyps (FPs), commonly skin tags. Innovative formulations have been developed to improve the bioavailability and stability of oils. In this study, we aimed evaluate morphology polymeric-micelles-based hydrogel (OEO-PbH), release permeation profile oregano oil, well assess vivo on degree biocompatibility impact angiogenesis ovo, using chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis indicated regular aspect after encapsulation process, while vitro studies showed sustained oil. None tested samples induced any irritation CAM limitation angiogenic process was noted. OEO-PbH, OEO, potentially enhances anti-angiogenic effect being tolerated non-irritative by vascularized CAM, especially blood vessels (BVs) presence leptin treatment. This first evidence antiangiogenic polymeric-micelle-loaded further mechanistic insights OEO-PbH formulation, involving possible target. The findings suggest that OEO-containing polymeric micelle future approach pathology cutaneous FP other angiogenesis-related conditions.
